Retail chains/Trading networks have decided to fight illegal sugar dealers and raised prices for bulk purchases.
So, in some regions in Metro and Lenta, the price of a pack of sugar rises if a person takes more than five packs. Similar measures have been taken for buckwheat and cereals.
Earlier, it was reported that on the Metro website, sugar was in the category of “adult products” or was not displayed at all as a product available for purchase. Later, the retail chain explained that sugar is part of many alcoholic beverages, and search results are configured to confirm that the buyers of such goods are 18 years or above.
